Banana Matcha Latte Recipe

This is one of my favourite recipes as it is an afternoon treat for me! Something to perk me up when the 2/3pm slump kicks in so I am ready for the school run and have the patience to be my best with the children…nothing worse than a ratty mum at school pick up and that has too often been me, generally creates an air of rattiness with all of us!

I don’t drink much caffeine, it just doesn’t agree with me…how irritating! If I have caffeine on an empty stomach it gives me a cold sweat and makes me nauseous so it just can’t happen, hence I am not a coffee drinker (I know a lot of people will check out from me when they hear that!) but I am partial to an afternoon matcha (which is full of caffeine) and this is my favourite way to enjoy it.

Ingredients:

1 x frozen banana (I always peel and freeze any bananas that are on the turn so that I can put them into smoothies, I prefer them when they are slightly more ripe as they are so much sweeter)

Half to 1 teaspoon of matcha powder (I use Clearspring at the moment but would love to hear about any other good brands out there).

250ml of almond milk (ideally home-made see my recipe on my blog…it’s definitely the way forward)

Place all of the ingredients into a blender (I have a Vitamix which is awesome!!) and blend until smooth.

Pour into a beautiful glass that makes you happy to look at and relax and enjoy. Maybe consider 10 mins of meditation afterwards and then go pick the kids up from school with a clear head, a full tummy and some caffeine to fuel you.
